Iran FM calls for explicit stance towards aggression

Araghchi held a phone call with his Azeri counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov on Tuesday. They discussed the latest developments in the region and bilateral relations.
He referred to the continuation of the aggressors' acts of evil, especially the Zionist regime, to expand the scope of the war, calling on the countries, especially the Caspian Sea littoral countries, to adopt a clear and decisive stance regarding the recent aggressions against some coastal areas of the Caspian Sea.
The Iranian foreign minister informed his Azerbaijani counterpart about the crimes committed by the United States and the Zionist regime, including attacks on schools, universities, hospitals, historical and cultural sites, vital and productive infrastructures of Iran, as well as residential areas, and said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran, in line with the exercise of its inherent right of legitimate defense and in accordance with international law, is taking defensive measures against the military bases and facilities of the aggressors located in the countries of the region.”
The foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for his part, expressed his concern about the security situation in the region and emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts to end the war as soon as possible and restore stability and sustainable security to the region.
The foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan also exchanged views on some bilateral issues in the telephone call.
